Disappointment with Adidas Singapore

Here is what I have to say:

I've bought a real good piece of equipment, Micoach Pacer, with Adidas in April. The piece of equipment cost me $219. One week into using the piece of equipment, somehow it refuses to work. As it is under warranty, I sent it back to the shop. I have to leave it there for them to find out what's wrong with it. I left it there and Adidas Bugis didn't not give me any forms of paper work stating that I have left my equipment with them for repair. So if one fine day if I goes back to the shop to ask for my items and if the shop manager states that they have no record of the items deposited to them, I'm screwed. I have no way to prove that my equipment was deposited there.

After I got it back from the shop, I started using it again... and again It failed to work. The online help desk was helpful and responsive. Gotten a reply in less than half a day. Was told to ask send it in to Bugis Adidas and ask a replacement. I was told they were out of stock therefore need to wait for a couple of weeks till the stock arrives. The day I sent it in was 24 April 2010.

29 May. I walk into City Link mall Adidas branch. I asked them if they have available stock. They mentioned their stock just came in. So I followed up with another question : Can I take my damage piece from Bugis Outlet and ask for a replacement from your outlet. Answer is no. We only handle repair and replace for sets bought from out outlet.

And I call Adidas Bugis and asked them about replacements. Again they mentioned that the stocks is not replenished yet.

So I wrote to Adidas help desk and manage to tell them how disappointed I was. The nice customer service officer located all the way in Germany put in a lot of effort trying to find a solution for me consulting her "head" and stuff. And here comes another disappointing reply.

"Dear Mr. Mike Wee,

I contacted the relative people for your Pacer issue again.

Our Adidas global CRM Manager from the headquarters in Germany contacted the regional manager in Singapore, who is the head of the whole country. They made a very careful check on everything and gave me the answer that due to the sales in the past few months they have run out of stock for a while and the new Pacers are expected to arrive sometime next week. I really hope this information is useful for you.

Could you please contact the shop again for the replacement Pacer? Sorry at the moment this is all I can do.

Here is my personal suggestion for your new Pacer. Please let the sales representative understand that you have been kept for waiting for a long term and they need to ensure that you have a useful Pacer. I also encourage you to use to and synchronize the new Pacer as often as you can to see how the new one goes. I am willing to give you helps on this issue.

My Personal opinion:

Firstly, I wouldn't buy gadget from Adidas again no matter how good it is cause there is totally no customer protection plan. No proper management of repair items, for example, repair chit, repair and replacement procedures etc. That piece of item I bought was a electronic item. If there was any repair and replacement procedure I don't see it for my case. 1 year warranty minus 2 months of wait. I'm left with 10 months warranty for what ever products comes by.

Secondly, I wouldn't buy gadget from Adidas again no matter how good it is because they don't not even have an above average logistic chain. How can you tell me to wait and wait and keep telling me its out of stock when other outlets other than Bugis have already received their restock? And the best part of it is, I can't even get my replacement from another outlet whom already has the stock and it seems that its not a possible avenue because the sales rep in the stores didn't even try.

And yes I'm pissed and I'm no longer comfortable with Adidas. I might as well stick to my Polar watch.

Defector have completed his 2nd Marathon!!!

Nope i don't have extraordinary timings. I'm a 7Hrs+ runner/walker. I just want to enjoy it. take my time... run, jog, walk the 42.195km. Its a good feeling to be able to complete that distance.

my first marathon

hummm .. okie today i've just finish my very first marathon. didn't turn out as smooth as i figured it would be... went limp at 21km mark. and the rest of the 21km i was limping.. cause my useless left leg starts to cramp on and off... :)none the less .. i clock 7 hrs and 21 min for my run/walk marathon.. I met my objective of the event. to made it out alive. I did. with lots of pain though. part and parcel.. haha .. still thinking if i should do it again next year haha.. maybe i should do the 21km. haha

okie... Standard Chartered Marathon is coming in exactly 1 weeks time. I've taken part in it. Its a personal thing. I didn't take part to clock fantastic results. I decided to take part in it for myself and in my friend's name. Si Qiu. The one final thing i could have done in his rememberence.. and My Aim is to complete all 42km of it.

defector you can do it. you made it for 21km after 3 years break from injury, you will make it just the same for this 42km.

My baby is doing 10km for a start. think next year making her do 21km. :) and then more for end of the year 08...

Lets do some final prep this week. haha...

I guess ordeal that my relationship taught me something serious and important about 2 person being together..

Seriously, its almost impossible to prevent anyone from choosing another person over you.. because there is always a pre-existing component in relationship thats call "personal preference". This is partly because there is always someone better than you out there and its your partner's personal preference together with a combination of other small factors that will cause inclination towards the so called 3rd party.

And in my earlier post I don't blame her for acting in such manner is truth. I do blame myself for a good part of the reason that this has happened.. largely, the amount of time i can spare out of my busy work schedule to be with her.

And its a constant struggle when it comes to spending time with her.. The principle consideration about spending time with her freely is to prevent her from being overly reliant on me. Its not wrong to be dependant on me.. but she is growing up.. thats the main point. independence to adult hood don't really happened when it comes with dependency.. This is something she might not knows...

I dare say that we are in a very strong relationship.. looking at how quick we recover from the ordeal for the last 2 weeks or so.. though not 100 percent yet. but it will be at a much faster time that I originally expected..

Our comitment to each other is much stronger.. and our love strengthen beyond what it was as compared to maybe 1 months back.. This really teaches me that a relationship is really brittle like a piece of glass.. the only differences is what kind of glass is your relationship like? all glass breaks on impact.. but is your piece of glass a bullet proof glass that absorb impact? or a piece of vehicle windscreen that breaks but not totally shattered? or a piece of water glass that shattered into pieces when dropped onto floor?

I figured that mine was a piece of windscreen glass.. it shattered.. but most part of it is still pretty much intact as one whole piece..

Love you sweetie.. we learn.. its our lesson... for us to look back.

its really amazing how much damage third party can do to an otherwise normal 3 year plus relationship.. Not only was the relationship spoilt... this third party got 2 person totally ruined. I'm lost for words.. we were being tested.. maybe as an assessment by buddha, jeseus... and what not..

We were suppose to be making arrangement for our wedding.. proposal was couple of days ago... a good ring was to arrive 3 weeks later.. but he didn't care.. a failed marriage he had encountered and he want to cause the same to the others.. I don't understand.. I stayed faithful to you just like you expected me to.. is it that difficult to be the same to me? I gave you a freedom that eventually caused me to lose mine..

I ain't angry with you.. serious.. from the bottom my heart.. i ain't angry with you.. just angry with myself for letting this happen. should have nibbed it in the butt when it surfaced.. I was simply too confident of us.. my job causes us that gap..

I forgave you... and please be forgiven.. it ain't right to blame yourself.. relationship is a two way thing.. either one made the wrong decision, both will suffer.. its fair.. to both.. I suffered.. I'm willing.. don't tell me if its worth it.. cause the worth is from the angle of my eyes not yours..

I want to move on with you.. from today on.. but are you willing to move on together with me? In unison, with this bad experience behind us as a personal lesson? We have only one last chance to strike...

I'm a soldier.. I'll fight.. I'm used to 5 days with 10 hours of sleep... I wouldn't lose you.. I can't lose you.. its not because i cannot afford to.. its because its not worth to lose to someone who don't befits you..

thats life of being an officer's girlfriend and wife to be. She had accepted that fact that she was a soldier's someboby.. but I still felt guilty that she had to go thru all this last min stuff..

Hopefully, i can minimised all this to my best ability.. so that she don't suffer for my job...

I always wanted to be an entrepreneur.. one that will always generate lots of ideas in creating business.. but first i think i need to work on individual competencies so that i can be proficient in this business thingy. the only place good enough to practise is the world wide web.. seriously, trying to convince people to come to my site is a hard issue.. There is a huge part of the world that is not developed. There is also another part that is on the way to start being developed. And technology goes to those who are rich in these countries. And the rich is a niche market. So maybe i can safely say that "we have 60-70% of the population that is not being explored yet on the world wide web".

If only Internet fraud don't cloud the Internet world, we would all have been merchants online. cause its easier to barter trade online than in person. I trade something with you and we sent it to each other.

That's something primitive on a new technology... Just like the old economy of the world. Trade.

Being a psychology student, seriously its in fact healthy to live some rich dreams.. so that there is motivation to work hard.. not to gamble hard. It is also proven that some people on the streets just got hit by the rich-man-over-night disease where they got hit with the jackpot right in the head suddenly and starts to slip into phobia always thinking about people robbing their money cause they didn't plan to have it in the first place..

If i did make it big, the money goes into the bank first. then 1 month later i'll think about what to do next. cause by then I would have already calm down. haha... thats what i would do. what would you do?

Okie.. I'm a UniSIM student. So called the "4th University" approved by Ministry of Education Singapore to award their own degree qualifications under the same name. Every student under the university was shock by PM's national day rally speech.. because the 4TH University is in the pipeline...

Everyone scrambled.. I guess everyone was not aware of status of UniSIM.. classmates kept asking me why I was so calm. So this is defector's official release on my official website toliveisagift.net. I was calm for the following reason:

1. UniSIM is indeed the 4th university approved to award its own degree in the country. So foreigners who came to study here in Singapore can go can and say loud loud that their degree is from Singapore.

2. PM isn't wrong to say the 4th university is in the pipeline cause officially, there is only 3 University in Singapore that the government has a part in.

3. So what can we do even if the government says its not the 4th recognised university? Quit school now? Thats the last thing on my mind. Serious. I enjoyed studying there. And i think i can do well there with all the mature students around me. And UniSIM really caters for my upgrading needs that fits to my real busy working schedule.

So to my friends out there who are UniSIM students, fred not. I've seen enough cases around me to tell me that paper qualifications is really not what a company looks for if you have sufficent work experience out side. Do you have friends who just turned regional manager in a MNC with just a poly diploma and a 6 month long management degree? And he is employing degree holders under him..

So if me, a government servant who isn't even affected by this paper qualifications thingy why should you?

On 17 August 07 UK defence ministry issued a new guidelines on blogs for defence personnel.. okie.. security issues starts to surface with the advancement of technology with web 2.0, blogs, 3.5G phone.. I doubt writers knew of the implications involved writing defence stuff.

It's really not about letting people know. It's about speculation from readers. A simple incident that happened couple of days ago, spreads like wild fire across the island with speculations. people don't just speculate about what actually happens, their speculations slowly went into character analysis of people involved, damning of the people involved...suddenly the people of the forum became psychologist.. psychiatrist.. fortune teller etc. that's the effect of blabbering..

Is this necessary? And i don't know what happen to media research. A SPH reporter just have to leave a note in someone's shout box and expects people to provides her with information. That's rather unprofessional right? I dunno.. I'm not media..

okie.. today's Si Qiu's funeral.. lots of stuff running around in my mind.. I thought of our time spent together at work.. off work.. during festive seasons and also during our comrades' weddings.. all turned into memories.. suddenly.. papers have wrote about him.. and i guess today serves as a form of closure to everyone of us that he had came across in the short span of his 25 years. Today, 29 August, he will be cremated at mandai.. 26th Aug is logged into my phone's calender, just like any other's birthday, as a reminder to me that 26th Aug is the day defector remembers Bro Ho..

His death was the 3rd I've encountered in my short career span of 6 years And I took this the hardest.. Maybe its because the other 2 was close acquaintance at work.. Si Qiu was different. He was a brother to us.. That's how we know him as at work. At work we always called him "Brother Ho", thats who he is to us.

Indeed his death taught me a lot of things these few days.. to understand that we are always at mercy of someone else..

It's a full military funeral that he is gonna have later in the afternoon.. and I hope this is the last time I have to attend a funeral in my uniform.. 3 is enough..

Post of the day is solely dedicated to a close comrade of mine and many others.. 25 year old CPT Ho Si Qiu.. He collapsed after completing 21km AHM as a competitive runner...

My buddy.. today.. you have fallen at a time when we least expected you to and we grieve for you... I still remember the 8 weeks we spent together as course mates where we sweat, bleed and work hard together.. And i owe it to you... to be my pacer for my numerous attempt in my 10km run... till i pass that grueling test..

I also remember the next 1 year that we spent together as collegues.. as room mates.. and most importantly as friends..

We will remember you.. as our brothers in arm.. and may you rest in peace..

But the appearance of a noisy new human kitten in Adrian’s family makes it difficult for him to sleep and when an outbreak of ‘Nappy-Rash’ makes the noise unbearable, Adrian has no choice but to move in with an elderly human, Old-Grey-Fur. However, he discovers that she sleeps even more than he does and he soon moves back with his humans. okie seriously... what do people asked for in life? Personally I'm a peaceful chap who like simple stuff.. a simple girl (I've one with me now), a simple relationship with her (you love me and i love you kind), a simple family, and really a simple life.. that's really what i asked for.. I've sinned in certain part of my life.. the much earlier part. made people sad.. hurt people I shouldn't have hurt.. but I grew up.. and I really want to be a simple person..

Its really hard to be a good guy all these while.. or rather trying to be a good guy.. Really.. The amount of stress I had to be a good guy in school.. "leading by example" kind of thing as a student leader, as an eldest son to my parents, elder grandson to my grand parents. Is just not easy for me..

I cracked.. But that was most part of my younger days.. the days I've sinned the most.. And I confessed to my Buddha..Really I'm regrettful..

That's the reason, my baby is my life. Through her, I see life. The hard and the easy part of it... And we are turning 3 soon... broke up 3 times.. patched back 3 times.. and argued for lots of other times... and thank sweetie (UFC) for staying with me for these 3 hard years..and I have to recognise the fact that it wasn't easy to be with a MR REGULAR..

To the new guys who met us recently at ping.sg ... I welcome you into our life.. as our friends.. for your info.. both of us didn't start off easy.. I was on clutches.. with a dislocated ankle and a fractured right shin.. she was trying hard to catch up in school. And we pretty much spent most of our first few months "limping" from one place to the other.. we watch Jay Chou's concert in 2004, I flew to Okinawa without her (2005) and I vowed to bring her to Japan at least once in these two years.. And not to mentioned The little other stuff.

We did come a long way to cherish each other.. Thats life.. 3 years to achieve that "you love me and i love you" stage of simplicity.. muacks muacks to my sweetie.. for being part of my simplicity...

Guess the community should be coming together to share a common vision.. reason why flaming starts was probably because the foundation wasn't strong enough.. like all internet community its the same..

Today a community is formed.. ping.sg is 1 year old. It can start to shout loud loud about how much it has achieved so far. And I really see members of this community going through a strengthening stage.. and I think the "flaming war" is a blessing in disgust to remind every individual in this community has their long and short coming. And trust and understanding is the mitigating factor to keep everyone together.

To understand more about dynamics of how community and society works.. a community that can survive have to be a self balanced one. when some one say A. there must be others who will say B - Z. Thats the nature of mankind when you move beyond 1 person. consensus is the word for decision making. Take the majority's answer as a decision making factor. It'll help.

I guess next milestone is to built an ping.sg identity that comes with strong base...

A tribute to My family and My only

Okie.. yesterday was SAF day.. ITs by far my 6th SAF day.. and I would like to thank my family for the support to me and my career thus far.. for the time i wasn't around for the past 6 years. for 5 years (2002 -2006) ... I lived on a book out only on week end mode. 2007 was a better year, i get to go home most of the time.. thanks 2 my new unit I get to spend more time with people around me. My mom don't see me on week days. Considering 52 weeks a year... she only sees me 104 days out of a year.

I ain't complaining about my work.. just that when i looked back... I sacrificed my family. Thanks mom & dad for the support in me having this job.. rest assured you didn't lose a son to the nation.

Since July 2004, I divided this 104 days a year package into two portion.. with my girl and my family. We suffer 3 x break ups and patching back to get this far.. 29 July is the day we will celebrate our 3 rd year of LOVE... Thank buddha I didn't lose you..

This It isn't about choice of being a regular... I just want to thank My family and my one and only for the sacrifice they put in for me and my career

Okie, went for korean this week end. Affordable korean food thats good... costs us 40 bucks for 3 side dish : Kim Chi, cucumber and ikan bilis, BBQ Meat :beef, chicken or pork, sweet spicy chicken and Ginseng soup for 2. This is Set meal A. The most favourite set for me and my baby. Trust me you love the soup to bits!!

Of course there is another set meal for couple. Set B which comes with other tasty dishes, couldn't think off hand now.. drop by if you like korean food. Ambience: quiet and nice for couple to spend time together.

Okie... I was at Han Ka Ram ( 260 Orchard Road #05-02b The Herren) having good dinner when a NSmen came into the resturant in his uniform. It totally turned me off. He wore it without pride and trust me, he wore it in a way that it disgraced himself indirectly. His boots were full of mud like he had just went to a war and back for lunch from that war.

Seriously, as a regular I would rather bring a change of clothes along for most days so that incase i need to head to town, I don't have to do it in my uniform. Infact, I hadn't visited town in my uniform at all during off duty times. Its 6 years since I'm enlisted.

While people wrote about "need to cut hair during ICT?" in the ST forums, they themselves showed their employers how unprofessional they can be when they are told to do things they don't like (in this case, ICTs). Is these individual attitute applicable in a totally corporate world? In my humble opinion, it can be so.. if a boss ask them to do something they don't like and doesn't impact them in their promotion, they would do it the way like they did it for their 10 year NS ICT. Hack care, dont' bother, you can nag but they chose not to do. and the best thing SAF pays them their civilian pay equivalent.

In case the girls don't know, your boys get paid during their 2 weeks of NS reservist. They don't do it for free if you thought they were.

Maybe thats the reason why the bosses hate having employees who need to go to ICTs cause they look unprofessional in their uniform? Misrepresentation to potential client if they see him on the streets.

It only takes one person to dress with absence of pride in his uniform and half Singapore will know. Firstly, lots of people sees you in orchard. Secondly, This lots of people don't just see and keep quiet. They form mental mindset. And they talk after that. it will work like advertisment. Marketing friends knows how good advertisment gain fame and bad ones gain flames.

Okie.. My baby's first pay... she wanst to be "boss of the day" and brought me to Kyomomoyama Resturant Situated at The Central. 6 Eu Tong Sen Street #03-87/100/101/110 Singapore 059817 Tel 65348001

Sashimi Salad. My baby's choice... cause its full of fishes (her Fav) and vege (health conscious). And there is a wasabi mayo dip for the fish! To be frank, The vege are crunchy.. and definately freshly cut. So is the Sashimi.. just what one wants from a Jap dish. Freshness!

This is what i choose. Salmon Set. It comes with very well made steam egg.. which i passed to baby... in case she didn't have enough.. she love eggs too. The ball at the center is potato salad. The red stuff is the famous fish eggs.

For the sweet tooth... this is one of the better deserts I've had in a resturant so far.. the fruits are sweet. And the squarish piece behind the watermelon.. papaya pudding. This meal reminds me of the kind of good food i get from my Okinawa trip somewhere last year. haha.. I guess I'm definately going to save up to bring my baby to Tokyo at least to taste the good food there!!

I'm totally burnt! today was by all means the hottest day in My whole life.. imagine wearing a thick army uniform.. standing in the sun.. talking.. instructing... and moving all over the place.. What would I do if I were a spy to keep my identity undercover? First, I’ll have a fake name. Fake identity. So how do I achieve that? Since hacking is the in thing, I’ll hack into a country’s immigration account, create a new identity under its citizen’s list and then report lost for a new identity card. Special ops training would have done that. Haha.. if I were specially trained in electronics handling and stuff.. so that I’m well capable to achieve it without breaking into sweat.. haha.. and if the electronic means fails, I guess the mission impossible things goes in… with me trying to run into immigration to have that fake ID registered into the systems.

Next question comes to my mind.. what if I need to accomplish a mission tasked to me and then I’m required to keep my identity confidential by all means.. use a device that will self detonate my body within milli seconds of my heart stops beating.. that will sufficiently prevent me from being known.. unless you are talking about DNA test and stuff under the new available technology!!

I need more time. can i have 48 hrs a day instead? my poor baby is sick over the week end.. and she literally lost her voice. humm.. also dunno what to do ... this year suck quite big time for me.. hahaha.. too many things happening.

Apple SAFARI 3 Review

Okie Downloading Safari from apple was easy.. Its simply fast!! 28.1mb file size. Took my maxonline less than 45secs to download. Then came the installation. The file updated all apple's plugin software. installation was a Breeze.

This is the Safari 3 public Beta. when i started the software the default site is apple's site. I went to yahoo.com . This is how it looked like :

I'm not really expecting much from a beta seriously, but worth a try. I moved away from Creative and bought apple ipod. Liked it hahaha

Well, the boys were accepted by Bedok North Secondary School by the Vice-principal Mrs Kong Chai Eng, although they failed their entrance tests. For a donation of S$5000 each. Another 2 China students Deng Li and Zhang Leixin paid S$10,000 each, both their English language scores were below 25%. Scores were altered to attain a 50% pass. Both were admitted to Express stream. David and Zhang Leixin were accepted for Secondary 1 Express classes even before the PSLE secondary school posting was out. They were asked to report to school on 6th January 2003 to avoid suspicion. :)

We, Singaporeans, have to go to good school via meritocracy (spelt right?). We have to ballot for primary 1 education, get into a secondary school via PSLE and then tertiary via "O" levels and then "A" level while people, from other country, can just skip PSLE and get into our secondary Express???!!

Frankly speaking there is nothing wrong with CIVIL SERVICE and ITS RULES AND REGULATION. The wrong goes into the people running the system at the "operations level" when "Authority" was given to them to make certain level of decision. Its an application to enter our education system for christ sake. What application are we talking about when MOE staff accept results without verification? And while EDB is talking about making us an education HUB, MOE is indirectly bringing the system's standard down. World class education? No doubt. World class educator? Not anymore. That's the implication when Principals and their vice made such wrong decisions!

So maybe i have a question for the education systems here. If I can donate 20k a year to NUS, can my kids enter NUS at a age of 10 years old? Its going to be a joke to our system here. Why do we need an entry exam when people can just buy their way in? And why do we ballot or do PSLE and O levels while people can buy their way into a place in a school and in express streams? What is our education guideline? What made us an education hub with top class education systems and "educators"? *ponders*

Are we all going into virtual World?

So second life is in the news again. haha... I can't really see ourselves being so involved with something so virtual and yet so real. So what's gonna happen in the future world? We shop in virtual mall and yet to have our purchases shipped to us from a warehouse? haha... That virtual mall could have been a 10storey house. but because of Second Life, the ware house would be just a one room office as a middleman linking the virtual world to outsourced supermarts thats 100 times bigger than walmart..

And soon we will see a police station worth of cyber police just responsible for patrolling the Second Life world. Maybe Cyber interpol? with cyber arrest warrants. So i can just hack into some account, produce a fake arrest warrants and then arrest someone which will also result in real life world. cause the most recent lines from Second Life is "Second Life Do Crime , Real Life Do Time"

Its how our world's gonna be as we all progress. Its sad..

So the question comes: Why to I sign up with adverlets.com?
My reasons:

1. The first reason why i signed up with Adverlets is because my girlfriend recommended it to me. I signed up for almost anything she tells me its nice.

2. I guess unlike payperpost, adverlets caters for our regions. something that's a first.

Three reasons why tomorrow.sg should stop anon comments

Okie, I'm blogging to appeal to the gang at Tomorrow.sg to stop allowing anonymous readers to comment on Tomorrow.sg . I'm appealing with 3 reason for the editors considerations:

1. Its true that there is a number of anonymous readers who does give constructive comments, but compare it with the number of anonymous flamming that occurs in Tomorrow.sg, is this first number still significant?

2. Does removing the anonymous options in posting comments affects readership to tomorrow.sg? Nope. I don't think it does.

3. In the name of free speech, I think it comes with an identity behind that speech. Recently, I think we have came across a case that reporter risked going into jail trying to protect her "source"? If none of the tomorrow.sg editors are willing to risk this, then anonymous comments must not be allowed. Because the earlier mentioned case is a precedence that in the eye of the law, the court has the right to demand disclosure.

Just my 5 cents worth.
